Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy Framework

The International Journal of Recent Innovations (IJRI) recognises the growing role of generative artificial intelligence tools and AI-assisted technologies in research and scholarly publishing.

The journal supports the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of AI technologies while maintaining the integrity, originality, accuracy, and reliability of published work. Authors, reviewers, and editors must uphold recognized standards of research integrity.

Permitted AI Uses
  • • Language editing and grammar correction.
  • • Improving readability, syntax, and clarity.
  • • Translation assistance between languages.
  • • Basic formatting and presentation support.

Condition: AI tools must not alter meaning, research findings, interpretations, or scholarly contributions.

Prohibited AI Uses
  • • Fabricating, generating, or falsifying research data.
  • • Manipulating research results or figures.
  • • Creating false or non-existent reference citations.
  • • Producing misleading scientific claims.
  • • Presenting AI-generated text without disclosure.
Mandatory Disclosure of AI Usage

Authors must clearly disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools in manuscript preparation, identifying the exact purpose. Routine spelling/grammar checkers do not require disclosure.

Standard AI Disclosure Statement Template: "During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used generative artificial intelligence tools for language editing and readability improvement. The authors reviewed and verified the final content and accept full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript."
AI Tools Cannot Be Listed as Authors

Artificial intelligence tools, large language models (LLMs), chatbots, or automated software cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. AI tools cannot accept legal/ethical responsibility, approve final proofs, declare conflicts of interest, or be held accountable for published research.

Author Verification Responsibilities

Authors remain exclusively accountable for all data, code, analyses, citations, and ethical compliance. Using AI tools does not transfer liability to software developers or automated providers. Authors must independently verify AI outputs for validity and citation authenticity.

Confidentiality in Peer Review

Reviewers and editors are strictly prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts, reports, or correspondence to external generative AI platforms or public LLMs where data security, intellectual property, and peer-review confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Editorial Sanctions for Non-Compliance

Where undisclosed, misleading, or prohibited use of AI is identified, IJRI may execute direct editorial actions:

Formal Author Clarification
Mandatory Correction/Revision
Immediate Manuscript Rejection
Acceptance Decision Withdrawal
Institutional Ethical Referral
Post-Publish Retraction
Alignment with COPE & Ethics Principles

The journal’s Artificial Intelligence Policy is developed with reference to recognized publication-ethics principles and relevant guidance concerning the responsible use of generative AI in scholarly publishing. IJRI is committed to transparency, human oversight, and accountability throughout editorial operations.

Policy Review Notice

This Artificial Intelligence Policy is reviewed periodically to reflect rapid developments in generative AI technologies, scholarly publishing standards, and international ethical regulations. The latest approved version remains publicly available on the official IJRI website.
