Authorship Criteria and Contributorship Policy

The International Journal of Recent Innovations (IJRI) is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, accountability, and integrity in authorship and contributorship practices.

Authorship must be based on substantial intellectual or scholarly contributions to the research and preparation of the manuscript. Every listed author must actively contribute to the work, approve the final manuscript, and accept responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the published content.

Mandatory Criteria for Authorship (Must Meet All 4)
• 1. Substantial Contribution Study conception/design, methodology development, data collection, analysis/interpretation, experiment execution, or main framework development.
• 2. Manuscript Preparation Drafting the initial manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual or scientific content.
• 3. Final Approval Reviewing, approving the final proof, agreeing to submission to IJRI, confirming author order, and approving publication upon acceptance.
• 4. Full Accountability Accepting responsibility for individual contributions, supporting research integrity, and assisting in addressing queries or correcting errors.
Author Responsibilities
  • • Ensure original, non-duplicate, and un-submitted research.
  • • Verify accuracy of author details and approved author order.
  • • Fully disclose funding sources and conflicts of interest.
  • • Report findings honestly and secure ethical/copyright permits.
  • • Cooperate with editorial inquiries & report post-publish errors.
Corresponding Author Duties

  • • Confirm all listed authors meet qualification criteria.
  • • Verify author names, emails, affiliations, and final order.
  • • Coordinate revisions, proof reviews, and reviewer responses.
  • • Obtain written consent from ALL authors for list modifications.
Contributorship Statement Roles

Authors may be required to outline individual contributions using standard roles:

Conceptualisation
Study Design
Methodology
Data Collection
Data Analysis
Investigation
Validation
Drafting & Editing

Note: Research supervision, funding acquisition, language editing, proofreading, administrative support, or technical guidance ALONE do not qualify a person for authorship.

Unacceptable & Unethical Authorship Practices
Guest / Gift / Honorary Authorship: Listing individuals based on seniority, influence, personal status, or without substantial contribution.
Ghost Authorship: Excluding genuine writers, analysts, or contributors who performed significant work.
Purchased / Sold Authorship: Buying, selling, transferring, or offering author slots (Triggers Rejection/Retraction).
Identity Fraud & Unconsented Listing: Fabricating names/affiliations, or listing co-authors without their knowledge/approval.
Acknowledgement of Contributors

Individuals offering technical help, proofreading, data entry, administrative support, or material assistance should be acknowledged with written permission. Acknowledgement does not confer authorship rights.

Changes in Authorship

Modifying author lists post-submission requires formal written justification and signed consent from ALL current, added, and removed authors. Changes post-acceptance are considered only in exceptional circumstances.

Authorship Disputes

IJRI does not adjudicate internal author disputes. Unresolved conflicts will result in review/publication suspension or referral to institutional authorities before proceeding.

Artificial Intelligence & Authorship

Generative AI tools or LLMs cannot be listed as authors. Human authors remain 100% accountable for all AI-assisted outputs, data authenticity, and policy compliance.

Authorship Verification & Misconduct Actions

The journal may request institutional ID verification, signed declarations, or contribution logs. Confirmed authorship misconduct triggers direct sanctions:

Formal Clarification Query
Immediate Manuscript Rejection
Acceptance Withdrawal
Published Author List Correction
Article Retraction Notice
Institutional Notification & Ban
Policy Compliance & Record Protection Notice

All authors are legally and ethically responsible for ensuring the author list accurately represents genuine contributors. IJRI reserves the full right to investigate concerns and take necessary editorial action to preserve the integrity of the published record.
